Traditional Boilers
Central heating systems with traditional boilers require a cylinder to store hot water, usually a hot water storage tank (in an airing cupboard) and a feed tank called a expansion tank(located in the loft). The hot water is provided by a boiler which keeps the water at a temperature you programme.
Combination boiler
The combination or combi boiler was developed to heat hot water on demand whenever the hot water tap is turned on. It has fewer components than a traditional boiler and with no hot water has a lower cost when installing with a better energy efficiency, resulting in lower ongoing heating costs.
